Abstract: | Technological innovation and change have been part of daily life of the Eveleigh Workshops since they were opened in 1887. The workshops were established as the heart of the vast railway network of New South Wales. When the site opened, it represented state- of- the- art in steam train technology and contained all the best equipment for maintaining the stat's numerous steam locomotives. |
