242A/244 Cleveland Street Sydney, Surry Hills. Inner Sydney High School testing and monitoring report

Abstract

The Inner Sydney High School project, 242A and 244 Cleveland Street, Surry Hills (SSD 7610) was approved by the then Department of Planning and Environment, on 28 February 2018, under delegation from the Minister for Planning. Casey & Lowe prepared two reports for the project: an Archaeological Assessment and Impact Statement (AA&IS) in 2016; and an Archaeological Research Design in 2018. An historical archaeological testing and monitoring program was carried out under the State Significant Development (SSD) approval by Casey & Lowe between June 2018 and April 2019. The Excavation Director for the historical archaeological program was Tony Lowe, Director and testing and monitoring was carried out by him and by Rhian Jones and Ronan Mc Eleney, Senior Archaeologists. This report details the results of the archaeological testing and monitoring of the works. The report was written by Rhian Jones and Tony Lowe.
