metadata.dc.contributor.corpauthor: Prepared by Austral Archaeology Pty Ltd for Aitus Page Kirkland
Description: Altus Page Kirkland (Altus or the Proponent), acting on behalf of Tallowoladah Pty Ltd, initially commissioned Austral Archaeology Pty Ltd (Austral Archaeology) to undertake an Aboriginal and historical archaeological assessment and Statement of Heritage Impact (SOH I) for the proposed development at the site of Campbell's Stores, 9-27 Circular Quay West, The Rocks, NSW (the study area). The study area location is shown in Figure 1.1, Figure 1.2 and Figure 1.3 and consists of nine separate lots. Campbell's Stores is currently listed on the State Heritage Register (SHR) and is the subject of an endorsed recent CMP (GML 2014). The proposed works include various alterations to existing buildings, expansion of the existing outdoor dining area and the construction of a new, stand-alone structure to the north of the store building. These works, particularly the construction of the new structure, will impact on areas of known archaeological potential (GML 2014:180).
