Description: This report documents the results of archaeological monitoring carried out by Austral Archaeology Ply Ltd (Austral Archaeology) on behalf of Mawland Quarantine Station Pty Ltd (Mawland or the proponent) to investigate the footprint of the proposed reconstruction of buildings P21 and P23 at North Head Quarantine Station, Manly, NSW. An excavation permit (S60 No 2011/S60/85) was originally issued and approved on 26 March 2012. Subsequently a Section 65a was lodged to vary the design of the proposed new buildings (S65a12016/41). Approval for this was received on 14 February 2017. An application was subsequently lodged for David Marcus (Archaeologist, Austral Archaeology) to be added as Site Director for instances where Justin McCarthy could not attend site. Approval for this was received on 30 March 2017.
