| Description: | This report arose out of a project initiated by the Uralla Historical Society to restore and renovate McCrossin' s Mill. McCrossin' s Mill I.as built before 1900 and thus falls in the bracket of historic sites which may not be altered or destroyed without the permission of the Heritage Council of N.S.W. Because some excavation was planned for restoration and renovation, and because the site falls in the above category, the services of a professioval archaeologist were required. Initially Associate Professor G.E . Connah of the Department of Prehistory and Archaeology was approached to carry out the work. Due to other committments he was unable to do this and so the project passed on to the author of this report. Funding for the project was provided by the Heritage Council of N.S.\\'. and the Uralla Rotary Club. |
