Title: 12a Parkes Street, Harris Park. Historical archaeological assessment / Prepared by Biosis for Coronation Property Co. Pty Ltd
metadata.dc.contributor.corpauthor: Prepared by Biosis for Coronation Property Co. Pty Ltd
Description: Background research conducted by Biosis identified that the study area was initially alienated as a part of a grant to John Harris, a surgeon and prominent landowner in the early days of the colony. On Harris' death in 1838 the property passed to his nephew, staying in the family until 1878 when it was sold and subdivided. During this time it was used as a private farm for horse breeding. The first record of any development on the property dated to the late 1930s or early 1940s, with a large residential dwelling appearing on a 1943 aerial image of the area.
