Abstract

Documentary Research The documentary evidence shows that for much oi its existence the study area formed part oi a larger agricultural area. ln the late 191h century numerous subdivisions led to the creation oi the study site in a form more recognisable today. The site does not appear to have been developed until the 1930s when the current apartment block was constructed. The extension oi Parkes St intersected a significant portion of the earlier allotment. Significance The study site was not found to be significant on either a local or State level. The general area is oi some local historical significance related to its association with John Harris and George Wigram Allen, However, as these people did not occupy the site and this association is unlikely to be represented archaeologically.
